Birch Run, Michigan (Friday, May 8, 2009): The Modifieds kicked off the year with their 30-lap Feature as Two-Time Defending Track Champion, Chuck Silva started on the pole along-side Rick Wiecorek and the two veterans brought the field to the green flag for the first feature of the 2009 season in front of a loud and boisterous crowd on hand.

Wiecorek led the first two laps before Silva slipped back by to take over the top spot on Lap Three. Silva would then have to fend off the challenges of Dave Christensen and Larry Wallace, but the Livonia, Michigan veteran was up to the task as he steered his Hamilton's Propane / Chevrolet into victory to win the first feature of the new season and begin his quest for a "three-peat."

Christensen fended off Wallace to finish second while Wallace, Fast Qualifier Travis Eddy, and Mike Luberda Sr., completed the Top Five. Ken O'Connor, Timmy Near, Nick Clemens, Zach Klingston, and Wiecorek rounded out the Top 10.

Eddy recorded the first Fast Qualifier Award of the season as he toured the 4/10s mile progressively banked D-shaped paved oval at a 16.069 while Silva and Wallace picked up the heat race wins.
