74curtismcrfeatureBirch Run, Michigan (Sunday, June 7, 2009): The 25-lap M.C.R. Dwarf Cars Feature was the only actual racing of the evening that didn't involve outright destruction as a thrilling battle between two-time defending series champion, Eric Hoffman and Craig Curtis had the crowd on their feet all race long as the two veterans diced all around the 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval throughout the Feature!

When all was said and done, Curtis, who earlier in the day set fast time and won his heat, would outwit Hoffman as the DeWitt, Michigan driver would go on to win his second series feature of the season in two starts. Hoffman settled for second while Nick Shanks, Jon Wylie, Mike McManman, James Miller, Brad Wyatt, Joe McManman, Rick Ayers, and Dave Wylie completed the Top 10.

Curtis set fast time over the 24-car field with a 15.386, just 0.196 off the track record, which is a 15.190 set by John Barnard back on June 21, 2001. Kevin Ayers, Dave Wylie, and Curtis all scored heat race wins. In Curtis' heat race win, he started in the back of the eight-car field, went four-wide into turn one once the green flag dropped and by the time the field got into turn three, Curtis was the leader!

The M.C.R. Dwarf Cars Series returns to Dixie Motor Speedway on Sunday, August 9th during EVE OF DESTRUCTION III.
