Dixie Motor Speedway has been a showcase of Auto Racing Talent from its beginning over 60 years ago.
Many a driver, now household names, have graced the asphalt (and dirt) at The Dixie during their formative years. Names like: Benny Parsons, English, Catlin, Cy Fairchild, Roberts, Gordon Johncock, Mel Kenyon, Biederman, Sweet, P. Jones, Hanley, Bob Senneker, Ed Howe, Joy Fair, Mike Eddy, Dennis Berry, Terrill, Gary Fedewa, and Parnelli Jones to name a few. These drivers were and are the best of the best.
Come out and enjoy some of the best racing action around on Friday Nights and watch tomorrow’s champions compete here today, at The Dixie Motor Speedway.
The face of Dixie changed forever when the new 4/10-mile highbanked track was added in 2003. A major undertaking to be sure; it was the only new track to be built in Michigan in decades. Along with the D-shaped oval, all-new state of the art lighting by Qualite Sports lighting was installed by Helm Electric. A new Daktronics scoreboard was added a few years later to help the drivers know who was chasing them.
The Good Lord willing, we hope to continue fan and racer improvements going forward.
