Attention drivers:
PLM drivers: 2013 rules are now posted
new update as of 12-28-12.
Pro Late Model Drivers:
In view of the debate regarding 2013 PLM Rules, I thought it helpful to clarify a few points so that all are on the same page.
The purpose of proposed rule changes is to develop a package that will allow for Template Cars to compete with Outlaw Cars on a level playing field without giving clear advantage to either in the rule book, resulting in a competitive full field for sponsors and fans.
It is clear that the Outlaw car has had the upper hand in the rule book and on the track over the last few years. The intent is for Outlaw teams to keep their current equipment and for Template teams to keep their current equipment. There is no intention or need for the added expense of changing from one car to the other. If it is found that one or the other has a distinct advantage, adjustments will be made to equalize them for competition. If you opt for a body other than the one you currently have, you will be wasting your money!
With minor adjustments, we will achieve a balance which will benefit everyone, especially teams and fans. Although we are making initial adjustments without the benefit of testing, we are asking for your patience as a rules are developed. As we get closer to opening day, we will put cars on the track to help determine what further adjustments are needed, if any.
For starters, the spoiler height for Outlaw Cars will be maintained at 8” until the full effect of the Template Car 10” rim change is determined. The shock rule will be clarified but in essence will not change from last year. Template Cars must be JEGS-legal except for posted exceptions. Overall weight and left side may also be adjusted.
The PLM has been a mainstay at Dixie for many years. It is our intent and hope that these changes will bolster this division for years to come.
Thank you for your patience and support.....we are all in this together.
Bomber drivers: Auto City and Dixie are working together on rules to allow for teams to go back and forth without making any changes.
Modified drivers: Rules will essentially be the same as last year. Top Speed rules will be adopted with minimal change. They will be posted after the New Year.
Factory Stock drivers: Rules will be posted very soon!
